Use this guide to choose the best natural merino sleeping bag for your baby.
Baby and Toddler Sizes
Merino Kids baby sleeping bags are available in two sizes:
Baby Size:
- Fits babies up to two years old. Minimum recommended baby weight is 3.2 kg (7 lbs).
- Measures 84 cm (33") in length from the high shoulder point.
Toddler Size:
- Fits toddlers aged two to four years old.
- Measures 106 cm (42") in length from the high shoulder point.
The contoured bodice fits snugly around your baby's chest and neckline and the fabric stays clear of their face when they twist and turn. As an extra safety feature, press studs (poppers) at the armholes adjust the fit for smaller babies.
Stylish Striped Designs
Your child will look their very best in these stylish striped designs: Cornflower, Rose Hip, Oatmeal, Fairy Rose, French Navy (baby and toddler sizes), Wild Poppy (winter-weight baby size), and Hollyhock (winter-weight toddler size). View all Merino Kids baby sleeping bags.
Standard and Winter Weights
The Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag is your ideal all-year-round baby sleeping bag, perfect for nursery room temperatures from 18ºC to 24ºC (64ºF to 75ºF). Most rooms rise and fall in temperature throughout the night and day, and the natural merino fibre has the remarkable ability to maintain your baby's warmth without overheating. Simply dress your baby in more or fewer layers of natural-fabric sleepwear in cooler or warmer seasons. Try to avoid polyester sleepwear fabrics because they do not release heat and moisture.
For cooler rooms or during the winter season, we recommend the Merino Kids winter-weight baby sleeping bags, which have an additional layer of natural insulation and will keep your baby warm in room temperatures from 15ºC to 20ºC (59ºF to 68ºF). Merino Kids winter-weight baby sleeping bags are available in two sizes: Wild Poppy for babies up to two years old and Hollyhock for toddlers aged two to four years old.
Merino Kids baby sleeping bags can be used safely in a broader range of temperatures than non-merino baby sleeping bags because of merino's remarkable natural temperature-regulating properties. Use a standard Merino Kids baby sleeping bag when you might otherwise use non-merino baby sleeping bags of TOG ratings 1.0 or 2.0. Use a winter-weight Merino Kids baby sleeping bag when you might otherwise use non-merino baby sleeping bags of TOG ratings 2.0 or 2.5.
