Merino Kids was founded in 2003 by mother-of-three Amie Nilsson, who applied her experience as a London textile designer and her knowledge of the virtues of merino wool to create the world's first merino baby sleeping bag.

Nilsson encountered the limitations of traditional cot bedding with her first daughter Lily. "She kept waking up cold in the night after kicking off her blankets," says Nilsson. "I tried a baby sleeping bag, but it gave Lily a terrible heat rash because its fabric contained polyesters, which don't breathe."

"I envisioned a baby sleeping bag made from nature's finest materials that would be of the highest quality, stylish and practical. I found the answer in the wondrous fibre merino, which keeps your baby cozy without risk of overheating," explains Nilsson.
